Every year since 1999, the Pernod Ricard Prize has rewarded an artist on France’s emerging art scene. The Prize exhibition is entrusted to a curator or artist who offers a forward-looking perspective on today’s art in France.

Awarded by a jury made up of past winners, curators of previous Prizes, and collectors, the Prize consists of the purchase of a work by the winning artist, which is then given to the Musée national d’art moderne – Centre Pompidou. It also enables the winning artist to benefit from support for a solo project abroad.

Since 2020, the Pernod Ricard Prize has also been conceived as a one-year mentorship with the selected artists, prior to the group exhibition. During that year, the artists are encouraged to create custom-made formats and meetings that individually suit them.

With the Prize, the Fondation is endeavouring to bring recognition to artists under the age of 40 among art professionals and a very broad audience.
