Poésie Plateforme - Montevidéo (outside the walls)
Conversation between Jean-Charles de Quillacq & Elen Riot
Moderated by Jérôme Mauche

This meeting of the “Poésie Plateforme” cycle of the Fondation Pernod-Ricard is scheduled, at the initiative of Montévidéo, on the occasion of the Spring of Contemporary Art in Marseille and the release of the magazine IF “Viva Villa”.
“Poésie Plateforme” invites, for an original and prospective dialogue, Jean-Charles de Quillacq, artist with sculptural, conceptual and fetishistic practices – who is currently a resident at the Villa Médicis – and Elen Riot, specialist in strategy and innovation of entrepreneurship. Traditionally distant in their classic perspectives, the artistic and entrepreneurial worlds, however, interpenetrate in multiple ways.

This meeting is part of the approach of Jean-Charles de Quillacq for whom bodies and their representation, the choice of materials and their interactions, social arrangements and the organization of work, in particular, are issues of his practice. The exhibition is, for him, often also a space for performances, playing with the codes of the institution, the delegation and the authority of his works. Personal exhibitions, very noted, have been dedicated to him in France and abroad. So in recent years, at Bétonsalon, Paris, "Ma système reproductive"; at Art 3, Valencia, "Ma sis t'aime reproductive"; in Ampersand, Lisbon, Pros; as well as recently at the Galerie Marcelle Alix, Paris, "Les poulains deviennent des chevaux". He published, with Elsa Vettier, the book Saint-Pierre-des-corps, published by Sombres torrents, 2020.

A former student of ENS de Lyon-LSH and HEC Grande Ecole, where she defended a thesis in Management Sciences, Elen Riot is University Professor at the University of Paris-8, attached to the Economics Laboratory Dyonisien, and at the University of Reims Champagne Ardennes. She is a member of the Société Française de Management.
