Launch of the book Paint everyday by Camila Oliveira Fairclough
The Guest Program of the Fondation Pernod Ricard is an open and flexible space for programming, serving as both a continuation and an extension of the Foundation’s activities and its Bookshop. Comprising a range of invitations that echo the ideas and forms shaping the current landscape of artistic creation and publishing, it offers diverse and cross-disciplinary proposals: book launches, discussions, and performances alongside more regular gatherings such as thematic workshops focusing on artistic practices, self-publishing, graphic design, and translation.
Camila Oliveira Fairclough, a Brazilian-born artist, draws inspiration from everyday elements. Words, letters, and signs become graphic motifs and forms, standing alongside geometric elements and colors within her compositions. Her painted and printed works reference the history of abstraction, the ready-made, Brazilian concrete and visual poetry, as well as Pop Art.
This first monograph presents a wide selection of paintings created between 2014 and 2024. It includes two essays offering fresh perspectives on her work, written by art and graphic design historian Victor Guégan and independent curator Jill Gasparina.
The book is published by Éditions B42, with the support of Mrac Occitanie – Musée régional d’art contemporain in Sérignan. It has also received support from ADAGP and the Fondation Pernod Ricard.
