Raphaël Zarka

The inaugural work of Raphaël Zarka (a photograph entitled Les Formes du Repos nº1) dates from 2001. This monograph, published at the end of 2011, exhaustively presents the first 10 years of his work and highlights the artist's great attention to the internal structure of a body of work whose main focus is the question of the migration of forms in space and time.

This editorial project extends discussions with some of his privileged interlocutors: Guillaume Désanges, curator and art critic, Jean-Pierre Criqui, art historian, and a text by Didier Semin. Christophe Gallois is in charge of the editorial design of the whole. The four texts commissioned specifically for this project have respectively as an angle of attack the question of replacement, the concept of " érudition concrète" and that of "sculpture documentaire".
