Relive the residency of Lou Villapadierna at Aperto

The artist-researcher had make Aperto’s space her laboratory for poetic and sound research and experimentation. From the mouth to the paper, her investigations around these voices unfold through self-narrative, vocal theory, and poetry.
Between January and March 2025, Lou Villapadierna organized Aperto as an echo chamber to welcome these polyphonic voices that unsettle, both in their sonic identities and in the storytelling they carry. The artist developed an experimental work mobilizing four approaches: sound recording, vocal experimentation, sound diffusion, and poetic writing. This individual work, carried out in the intimacy of the studio, was complemented by invitations to other artists and performers, as well as collective practice sessions to which the public was occasionally invited to join.
“I’ve been investigating outres-voix for several years. Outres-voix are her marginalized, affected, ethereal, spectral voices...” Watch her video interview here!
