Aperto: Listening session: rethinking places to listen and celebrate
As part of the TOCA/MALA residency at Aperto.
A program of workshops and events – proposals by Kenza Belkadi, Dana Cavigny, Selma Hyka, Hyungee Kang, Maxime Le Godec, Gloria Mendes-Bernardet, and Dino Stravinskij.
Public event from 5 PM to 9 PM.
On a proposal by Selma Akyh (Selma Hyka) and Kenzzza (Kenza Belkadi), this afternoon is conceived as a moment of collective listening and open discussion around how we inhabit and transform spaces for sound diffusion.
They invite the collectives Barbarry (North African, Afro, Caribbean diasporas) and LOL – Liberating Ourselves Locally (a queer and decolonial collective based in Milan) for a gathering between sounds, stories, and a sound nap. Two DJs from these collectives, DJinn Arezki (Barbarry) and Kunthug (LOL), will offer sets for a moment of attentive rest.
It is about slowness, contemplation, and shared vulnerability. How does a space for collective care sound? Can listening be a way to meet?
The event is open to everyone, but racialized people, queer people, FLINTA, and those from diasporas will be prioritized in speaking opportunities.
Replay on Radio Flouka.
The invited collectives:

LOL – Liberating Ourselves Locally @liberatingourselveslocally
A space for partying, care, and struggle, where Albanian diasporas, FLINTA, racialized and queer people organize to celebrate, create connections, and deconstruct Eurocentrism. LOL operates without budget, hierarchy, or filters.
