Incarnation of Philosophy?

Tuesday 18 November 2008 at 7 pm

Michel Maffesoli has chosen the theme of the incarnation of philosophy for this rendez-vous de l’imaginaire, which brings together philosopher Charles Pépin (Les Philosophes sur le divan, 2008; « Philosophers on the Couch ») and journalist Christophe Mory. Charles Pépin’s book, which has Freud analyze Plato, Kant, and Sartre, brings to light the degree to which western philosophies are uprooted, concerned with morals, and disconnected from reality. They lack a body, only aiming for the ether of ideas. How can they be brought back to earth? How may thought help us think through « this world »? The debate will touch on these questions.
