Les Rencontres Initiales aim to discuss forms and modalities of the transmission of art, in time, around a figure, and in space, using territory.
Initiales is edited by École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts of Lyon, coproduced by Fondation d’entreprise Ricard.
After exploring the art scenes in Grenoble, Nice and Bordeaux, this fourth Initiales/La Scène meeting will take a look at the development of the Genevan art scene over the past 15 to 20 years, that is to say from the turn of the century until today. What role do art schools play in this history? What are the parameters that unite to foster the blossoming of a local art scene? How is the local level connected with the national and international levels? What is special about the Genevan ecosystem, and about the life and work economy of the people involved? These are some of the questions that Emmanuel Tibloux will ask his four guests: Joerg Bader, director of the Centre de la photographie, Jean-Pierre Greff, director of HEAD, and artists Delphine Reist and Denis Savary.
