Launch of the book Le mouvement féministe est un complot lesbien
Presentation of the book Le mouvement féministe est un complot lesbien. Une anthologie (1969-1974, USA) [The Feminist Movement is a Lesbian Conspiracy] by Hélène Giannecchini, followed by a discussion with Léna Araguas and Alaric Garnier (Rotolux Press).
This collection of selected and previously untranslated texts in French offers an in-depth look into the American feminist movement of the early 1970s and the pivotal role played by lesbians within it. Between 1969 and 1974, key writings emerged from collectives such as the Lavender Menace and from authors like Martha Shelley, Willyce Kim, Rita Mae Brown, Judy Grahn, and Sue Katz. By addressing issues of gender, class, race, and their many intersections, they advocated for revolutionary positions. This book also highlights the graphic forms these texts took, reflecting the boldness and radical spirit of this young, feminist, queer generation.
