Paris Performances: Le Réalisme #3 with Pauline Ghersi & Liv Schulman

Wednesday 4 June 2025 at 7 pm

Entrusted to Pauline Ghersi and Liv Schulman, whose practices are identified in the video and object fields, this year's Paris Performance cycle will take place over three evenings from December 2024 to June 2025. With their singular sense of humor, and accompanied by amateur actors, the two artists have entitled their proposal “Le Réalisme”, as a playful exploration of the most fundamentally banal everyday life.

Wednesday, June 4, at the Fondation Pernod Ricard, we invite you to a studio visit during which you'll discover the unconscious minds of artists at work. While all the employees of the Foundation head off for afterwork drinks, Pauline Ghersi and Vil Schulman will settle into their offices to brainstorm, clean up, compare themselves, take a nap, eat imaginary chicken cordon bleus, summon algorithms, order clothes online, complain, cut their hair, and question their number of followers. In short, they will be working. Working, yes—but to what end? In this third and final installment of the Realism series, part of the Paris Performances program at the Fondation Pernod Ricard, the two artists question their ways of working and the value of that work in a live-streamed performance titled: The Surplus.
