Exhibition from 28 June to 3 July 2021

Carlotta Bailly-Borg invites Margaux Schwarz for her Carte Blanche as part of the Pernod Ricard Foundation Prize 20-21 program. Together, they propose a radio series in six episodes to be discovered every day of this week at 6:00 pm on radio Duuu.

Like a supernatural telephone line, « Liaisons » is composed of several calls with the past, present and future and takes the form of interviews, stories or poems. Generated through Margaux Schwarz’s mediumistic gift, these conversations are initially the result of clairvoyance sessions between the two artists; they explore subjects that are common to their respective practices. They reveal multiple voices expressing themselves around various subjects ranging from biological or mechanical reproduction, to desire or more specifically to the fluidity and flexibility of bodies inherent to the functioning of our post-industrial society. Each session or text is transcribed and performed – as if deciphered – by actors whose mother tongue is often different from the original text.

This week’s program with those who have lent their voices to the different parts of this series:

Monday, June 28 – The Working Women, (Part One): Eleanor Ivory Weber

Tuesday, June 29 – The Peasant Woman, (Part 2): Margot Vanheusden

Wednesday June 30 – Susan Sontag, (Third part): Eleanor Ivory Weber

Thursday, July 1 – Mars and Europe, (Fourth part): Harald Thys

Friday, July 2 – Lacan, (Fifth part): the original version of the recording of the session with Brendan Michal Heshka

Saturday, July 3 – Containers, (Last part): Douglas Eynon. This episode is introduced by Le petit bidon, a poem written and read by Christophe Tarkos recorded at Beaubourg, Paris in 1999.
