Residency

TOCA/MALA - Cross-residency with the students of ENSAPC

Residency until 19 July 2025

A program of workshops and events - proposals by Kenza Belkadi, Dana Cavigny, Selma Hyka, Hyungee Kang, Maxime Le Godec, Gloria Mendes-Bernardet and Dino Stravinskij.

Invited by the Fondation Pernod Ricard, seven students from ENSAPC (École Nationale Supérieure des Arts de Paris Cergy) take over the autonomous APERTO space, a place conducive to research and creation, for the first edition of TOCA/MALA from June 23 to July 19, 2025. The term takes its name from the trains on lines L and J that run between Gare Saint-Lazare and Cergy, and refers to the extension of a circulatory but also transitory space, where a multitude of individual, collective or collaborative projects can cohabit to and fro.

This cross-residency focuses on the production of variable-dimension forms, in the continuity of projects developed at ENSAPC, echoing different fields of practice linked to writing, cinema, photography, sound or volume, in a work in progress punctuated by invitations, meetings and workshops.

Research projects

A restitution will take the form of an installation between photos and text archives, and will be accompanied by a live performance of a photo project (installation) and text archive, a live mix performance with Niloofar Asghary (guest sound artist).
Restitution on Friday, July 11 from 2pm to 7pm

Gloria Mendes-Bernardet and Dino Stravinskij “Mortensen flute and haunted melodies”: Research and creation residency consisting in the collective production of a miniature cardboard village that will enable Gloria Mendes and Dino Stravinskij (as well as other visiting artists) to experiment, invent characters and stories, and make plastic, visual and sound forms collide in this space.
