Madeleine Planeix-Crocker
Madeleine Planeix-Crocker was born in 1993 in Los Angeles.
She is a curator at Lafayette Anticipations, where she oversees the performance and live arts program. Since 2021, Madeleine has also been co–head of the Troubles, Alliances, and Aesthetics Chair at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris, where she teaches art theory.
A graduate of Princeton University in Cultural Studies, Madeleine holds a specialized Master’s degree in "Media, Art, and Creation" from HEC Paris, as well as a Master’s degree (M2) in Performance and Gender Studies from the EHESS. During her studies there, she developed a research-creation project in collaboration with the association Women Safe, for which she now leads a theater and creative writing workshop. Madeleine is currently pursuing a PhD at the EHESS (CRAL), focusing on modes of collective making within the expanded fields of contemporary performance in France.
Her recent publications have appeared in CURA., OnCurating, SwitchOn Paper, and EarthKeepingEarthShaking. She has curated two group exhibitions: Spine at GIANNI MANHATTAN as part of the Curated by program (Vienna, 2024), and Scabs at Les Mécènes du Sud (Montpellier, 2023). Madeleine is also continuing her training in contemporary dance.
