Salomé Burstein is an independent writer and curator based in Paris. Her work explores regimes of visibility and staging, and the ways in which affects and interactions are distributed within them. In addition to her research in theater studies and visual studies (ENS Lyon, EHESS Paris, Columbia New York) and her investigations into collective practices (Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm), she has collaborated with several institutions and artistic organizations (AFIELD Fellowship, Lafayette Anticipations, Hauser & Wirth) and publications (AOC, Cura, Mousse, Texte Zur Kunst) through exhibitions, texts, and translations. Since 2021, she has directed Shmorévaz, an independent art space housed in a former shoe store in Paris, as well as Shmooks, her editorial platform. She recently co-curated Vernis à ombres, Benoît Piéron’s solo exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo.
