Sarah Benslimane
Sarah Benslimane is a Franco-Algerian-Swiss artist, born in 1997, who lives and works in Geneva.
She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Fine Arts from HEAD – Geneva. Sarah Benslimane’s work reflects the overabundance of information, images, stories, and styles that are now accessible simultaneously and instantly. Her sculptural paintings play with the viewer’s expectations of reality and seem to offer clues to a puzzle that has spiraled out of control. Drawing on the clean lines of Minimalism as well as the irony of NeoGeo, Benslimane’s works deconstruct preconceived notions of vulgarity, gentleness, authority, and contemporaneity, opening up a space where naivety, roughness, humor, and gravity coexist.
Her recent solo exhibitions include the Palais de l’Athénée, organized by MAMCO, Geneva (2025); the Francesca Pia Gallery, Zurich (2025); LISTE Art Fair, Basel (2024); Plymouth Rock, Zurich (2024); Madragoa, Lisbon (2023); the Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva (2022); and Tunnel Tunnel, Lausanne (2022).
Sarah Benslimane is represented by the Consonni Radziszewski Gallery in Milan, Lisbon, and Warsaw, as well as in the program of Francesca Pia in Zurich.
