Diorama No.3 : Call for submissions

What if the neutral became "more is more"?

Architecture, typography, graphic design, fashion... for a century, our environments seem dominated by a formalism that tries to erase the asperities, the differences. A neutral gray, cold, austere, standard, reproducible and sanitized.

What if we imagined a new neutral? A living, popular, lush, noisy, expressive, multiple, and fertile neutral. A neutral who celebrates difference, eccentricity, identities, pleasure, freedom and chaos. A form of harmonious anarchy.

To contribute to the constellation of reflections that feed Diorama No. 3, send us an image, an idea, a book reference, a work or anything else that evokes this other neutral at [email protected].

It’s up to you to tell us: what could the new neutral look like?

Currently in residence at Aperto until 19 December, Marie-Mam Sai Bellier is dedicated to the design of Diorama No.3, an art and typography magazine, conceived as a lively and collective editorial space where the book is built through encounters, epistolary exchanges and events. More than a production time, it is a workshop for Marie-Mam Sai Bellier where theoretical research, craft creation (glass, stone, wood, paper), graphic and typographical, and the collective experiments intertwine to directly feed into the content of the future publication.

The project revolves around the notion of New Neutral, a free attempt to redefine the neutral not as the erasure of singularities, but as a harmonious chaos. Like a lush nature, where the profusion of forms and species in constant adaptation composes a balance without hierarchy or apparent uniformity, this research celebrates life and the coexistence of differences.
