Interview with Helena de Laurens and Lina Schlageter, guest artists of Paris Performances (2025–26 season)

The artists invited for the 2025–26 season reveal the origins of Café Trois Nuits, a three-part collection of short plays!

"The intimacy and closeness of the café setting will allow us to experiment with different states of presence and focus our attention on the flow of listening and communication between the audience and the performers. Each evening will be an opportunity to embrace the café as an acoustic space, a sounding board for our voices and gestures. Without a stage but accompanied by the spirit of this small space, we will practice thinking of our own, that of the café, as simultaneously empty and full: a dark field in the sense of the unknown, into which we will venture as scouts. Between the tables and chairs, close to or far from the counter, we will knead the floor, listen to its heart beating wildly and its feet tapping to the beat, in tune with the audience and attuned to the vibrations of the moment and the place we share for an evening.

Singing café, dancing café, melancholic café, boisterous café: we want to make it a place that welcomes singularities, deviations, and escapades".
