The publication around the exhibition "over the top, undercover"

"At the heart of this book are three texts, one per artist, which are commissions that have been awarded to Leto Ybarra, Perwana Nazif and Alice Blackhusrt, who were invited to put their words, ideas and perspectives on these works within the book."

On the occasion of the exhibition over the top, undercover, curator Salomé Burstein tells us about the conception of this publication, where the essays commissioned from authors for each artist are mixed with an image bank composed of each person’s inspirations.

"Surveying the city, the contours of objects, the spirals of language and sometimes those of obsession, the works of Jonathan Martin, Rosa Moreno and Clémence de La Tour du Pin negotiate with what conditions perception. Everyone detects and diverts stratagems that orient the gaze, channel desire and existences – to break or disrupt the automaton." Over the top, undercover" connects to these tensions in the field of the sensible, to its manipulations, its elastic side. The exhibition reveals in everything the logic of makeup, where what you enhance also depends on what you are trying to blend. Artists thus look at what the staging camouflages, what they express in code – the mechanisms of the unconscious, of debt, of delirium."

About the Nouveau Programme

The Nouveau Programme offers a more reactive and committed form of institutional support. This is a model of support for artists that goes far beyond the traditional calendar of exhibitions and awards, integrating financial, practical and institutional support to three artists over the next few years.

True to its approach centered on collaboration and the involvement of a curatorial perspective, the Fondation continues to entrust each edition of the Nouveau Programme to an invited curator who is responsible for designating three artists, while ensuring lasting visibility for all supported practices. The program includes a collective exhibition entitled "over the top, undercover" for this edition, accompanied by a publication containing an essay commissioned and dedicated to each artist.
