8:30 p.m — Live concert by Wren Cellier

9:30 p.m — Lia Catreux (DJ set)

The Swiss based artist, performer, composer and singer Wren Cellier experiments sound work combining folk music, spoken word and distorted field recording.

Pauline Coquart is a French artist, writer and performer based in Basel, Switzerland. Poetry is the centrale element of their sculptures, installations, performances and paintings, oscillating between humor and quasi « real talks ».

Lia Catreux is a French DJ and producer who draws on a wide range of influences and intensities to create an unpredictable selection of tracks with a mischievous energy and a strong penchant for bass music, breaks and experimentation with a more or less familiar feel, all of which plunges you into a world of dark fantasy.

As part of Mathilde Rosier's solo exhibition "In the Field Of Intensive Prosperity", on show at the Pernod Ricard Foundation from 16 May to 22 July 2023, exhibition curator Chus Martínez and the artist have conceived an evening to celebrate sentient life. The evening of the summer solstice, coinciding with the Fête de la musique, the Foundation will be hosting a program of performances, imagined as a poetic and musical echo of Mathilde Rosier's exhibition.

"On the occasion of the exhibition 'In the Field Of Intensive Prosperity' by Mathilde Rosier at Pernod Ricard Foundation we have imagined ways of enacting the communication among the living species. Why is it important?

We are currently seeing how our capacity of impacting positively on our living circumstances is getting smaller, the narratives about the world and life are very active in defining the limits, the problems, the borders, the scarcity of possibilities to realize change and transformation. Think about an interesting fact: now that we were almost certain about human’s relative importance on the planet, we are witnessing how the media are presenting artificial intelligence and that GPT chat as soon superior to the human.

Paradoxically, it seems we are incapable of promoting true diversity and we still describe the world in hierarchies. Now on top of the pyramid seats technology. It is for this reason, that we need art and artists to create circumstances that allow us to relate to one another and life in all its forms activating the senses and a different experience of life.

We do need magic and joy to be injected into the social systems because only after a little ecstasy we may be able to name unknown forms of organizing life so that we can fulfill our dreams." — Chus Martínez
