Residency

Aveycke Press, a label for non-musicians: a project by Raphaël Massart

Residency from 22 September to 19 December 2025

Aveycke Press settles in at Aperto – Project Space for a three-month residency.

Labels and record companies are structures capable of giving sound its musical dimension, in the self-referential sense of the term. Aveycke Press seeks to open a door in this landscape to people whose practice is not identified as musical. Poets, listeners, collagists, and archivists will come together here to share what might be called their music.

In September 2025, Aveycke Press will move into Aperto – the Fondation Pernod Ricard's project space – for a three-month residency. Serving as a launch pad for this new project, the residency will be an opportunity for the artists behind the label to work on defining its initial contours and to experiment, through doing and sharing, with the ideas that Aveycke embodies. How can music be made and distributed today? Faced with the musical, administrative, and visual standards that condition sound production, what should be kept and what should be left behind? During this research and creation residency, the label team and guest artists will benefit from the production and distribution resources available at Aperto, which will become a recording and editing studio and a meeting place where they can work together and help each other to produce a compilation. At the end of the year, the label will release this first compilation, which will bring together a dozen artists.

The Aveycke Press studios will occasionally open their doors to the public for events showcasing the label's initial experiments and giving guest artists the opportunity to present their music.
