Arash Nassiri
Arash Nassiri lives and works in Berlin.
Arash Nassiri graduated from the Diplôme des Arts Décoratifs de Paris in 2012 and continued his training at Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains. His education also includes the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris as well as the Berlin University of the Arts, where he studied in 2010. His work explores the legacy of Western influence on Tehran. His practice draws on the visual languages of music videos, television, and cinema, reworking familiar formats into speculative and allegorical forms. His work often examines how built environments absorb and reflect histories of migration, displacement, and cultural hybridity.
His work deals with the heritage of western influence on Tehran. Selected exhibitions include: Half-Light, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin, 2024; Rayon Jouets, Hangar Y, Paris, 2024; GRIS NARDO, Octo Productions, Marseille, 2023; Barbe a Papa, CAPC Bordeaux, 2022; Metabolic Rift (Berlin Atonal), Kraftwerk Berlin, 2021. His video work has been screened at New Directors MOMA, Berlin Biennale, ICA London and CPH DOX.
