Mohamed Amer Meziane is a philosopher and assistant professor of humanities at Brown University (United States). His work explores the history of extractivism by contemporary “Fossil states’’ and calls for an ecology taking into consideration “what exceeds’’ the Earth, thus going beyond the ontological turn of anthropology. Author of The States of the Earth (2021) and Au bord des mondes (At the edge of worlds, 2023), as well as numerous articles, he is a part of the editorial committee of the publication Multitudes and has taught at Columbia University, Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and has been a research fellow at the free universities of Berlin and Brussels. His first book won the Villa Albertine non-fiction prize
