Mathilde Girard and Lola Gonzàlez

Wednesday 29 March 2023 at 9 pm

At Montévidéo, Marseille. Entrance fee: 5 euros.

This new meeting, hosted by Jérôme Mauche, will see Mathilde Girard, psychoanalyst, author and filmmaker, and Lola Gonzàlez, artist and director, in dialogue at Montévidéo, Marseille.

A similar force of questioning, as of strangeness, associates in their films generational cut, political stakes of emancipation and concern of the expressions and collective forms.

These two exceptional creators will propose a moment of exchange and reflection together, from utopia to reality.

Mathilde Girard is a psychoanalyst, author and filmmaker. Her vision combines intimacy and politics, sexuality and collectivity, representations and presences.
We owe her notably the essays "L'Art de la faute, selon Georges Bataille", Lignes, 2017; "Un personnage en quête de sublimations", Gallimard, 2019, and books of interviews "Proprement dit. Sur le mythe", with Jean-Luc Nancy, Lignes, 2015; "Défense d'écrire", with Michel Surya, "Encre marine", 2018.
She coordinated with Léa Bismuth the collective work "La besogne des images", Filigranes, 2019. She has published a story about confinement, "La Séparation du monde", Excès, 2022, of which she made a performance with Frédéric D. Oberland for the site Lundimatin.
She has written for the cinema with Pierre Creton and Marylène Negro and has directed a first film, "es Episodes - printemps 2018" (Prix du Film Premier, FIDMarseille 2020). She is a member of the magazine Lignes, and collaborates with A.O.C, Lundimatin and Cocpkpit.

Lola Gonzàlez is an artist and filmmaker and co-founder of "La maison dans laquelle" in Lisle (24). Her videos and films elaborate on the energy and mystery of a friendly group, experimenting with alternative ways of feeling and doing. She also develops a work of collective performance and dance.
Her work is regularly presented in France and abroad in group exhibitions and festivals: Palais de Tokyo, Centre Pompidou, IAC Villeurbanne, Galerie de Noisy-le-Sec, Flax Foundation in Los Angeles, Kunstverein Sparkasse in Leipzig ... Solo exhibitions have been devoted to her at the Passerelle, Brest; MAC, Lyon; Crédac, Ivry-sur-Seine.
She was laureate of the Meurice Prize for contemporary art and nominated for the Fondation Pernod Ricard Prize in 2017. Resident at the Villa Medici in Rome and more recently at the Villa Arson, she teaches at the EBABX in Bordeaux.
She is represented by the Marcelle Alix gallery, Paris.

Twice a year, as well as during the Festival Actoral, the Mercredis de Montévidéo hosts an episode of the "Poetry Platform" cycle of the Fondation Pernod Ricard. These meetings offer original encounters and dialogues that are close to the approaches and work processes of artists, poets, researchers, filmmakers, choreographers from conceptual and visual practices.

Admission fee: 5 euros.
