“Becoming” brings together two unconventional creators for an unusual dialogue: Caroline Bergvall, experimental poet and visual artist, and Avital Ronell, the most audacious of the American theorists.

During the lockdown, from Norway, Caroline Bergvall remotely participated in many events and meetings in Europe and the United States, exploring forms of collective creation. And Avital Ronell, from a Paris apartment, issued her Salut, Hello (Testing 1,2,3), strongly and movingly addressing the event.
“Becoming” will be a chance to explore the experimental processes that these two many-sided authors develop, for Caroline Bergvall in the resonant and queer intersection of languages and mediums, and for Avital Ronell in the deconstruction of philosophical and literary texts.
In what sense are their works and hypotheses first and foremost instruments of impetus and life in these uncertain times? How do the “becomings” that they bring about liberate a desire for utopia and lucid transformation in the aftermath?
